Tucked away at the corner of West Ninth and Main streets is District Six, the downtown bar owned by Justin Bohls and his brother Gary Brown.
Owning a bar was a longtime dream for Bohls, which was fulfilled with District Six in March.
“I have always wanted to open a bar, but I didn’t want it to serve your typical bar food,” Bohls said. “We locally source a lot of our ingredients, and we make most everything from scratch.”
District Six has several bar-friendly dishes, such as hot wings, barbecue carrots and street corn queso, but it also serves a Texas Wagyu Smashburger and, its most popular dish, according to Bohls, the Thai Glazed Wild Boar Ribs.
