Georgetown bar serves up locally sourced ingredients

The bar does not have a sign, so one has to be a bit adventurous when looking for it, Bohls said, about the unassuming location.

“We have been active in the Georgetown community for a long time and always wanted to be part of the downtown Square,” Bohls said. “A friend of mine let me know when this [location] went on the market.”

Bohls and his wife, Katy, have been longtime residents and business owners in Georgetown, having opened two event venues, the Union on Eighth in 2013, and more recently Wish Well House on South Main Street.

“My wife moved to Georgetown when she was young and graduated from Georgetown High School, so she has lived here most of her life,” Bohls said.

Katy is an interior designer and created the relaxed, bright and airy ambiance in the bar. According to Bohls, she wanted to make it a place where everyone wants to hang out, even if not watching sports. In addition to 21 TVs dedicated to sports, District Six also has 33 beers on tap, a selection of wine and a full bar.
