After a delayed update, Williamson County reported 42 new coronavirus cases and two new deaths Aug. 25. The total number of cases is 7,789.
To date, 80 patients are hospitalized; 27 are in intensive care; and 17 are on a ventilator. The Williamson County and Cities Health District also reported 21% of hospital beds, 17% of ICU beds and 86% of ventilators are available.
The total number of deaths increased to 115.
Counted deaths are of those who have COVID-19 listed as a direct cause of death on the death certificate. A medical certifier, usually a doctor, determines the causes of death. The Texas Department of State Health Services does not include deaths of people who had COVID-19 but died of an unrelated cause, according to the DSHS dashboard.
The number of known active cases continues to decline as does the current rolling seven-day positivity rate, or the rate tests return positive, which is 8.13%. More than 7,300 people have recovered, according to the WCCHD dashboard.
