Texas Municipal League to move headquarters to downtown Georgetown

“The TML Risk Pool Board of Trustees’ decision to house our Texas Municipal Center in a city with the long and deep history of Georgetown was based on a commitment to continuing our critical work in serving city’s risk needs over the next five decades and being an employer of choice to ensure we’re providing excellent service to our member cities,” Bert Lumbreras, chair of the TML Risk Pool board, said in the release.

Something to note

Georgetown Mayor Josh Schroeder said in the release that the city and TML Risk Pool are also discussing a partnership to build a second downtown parking garage and meeting space at the city-owned parking lot near the corner of East Ninth and South Main streets.

“We couldn’t be more excited about the decision for TML and the Risk Pool to move their headquarters to beautiful downtown Georgetown,” Schroeder said in the release. “I believe this will only strengthen their ability to do the critical work they do in serving communities across the great state of Texas.”

The city plans to open its first downtown parking garage Nov. 21, with additional garages earmarked in its downtown master plan.
