A Frisco nonprofit fighting child hunger will now receive proceeds when Blue Bell Creameries ice cream is delivered by drone.
Frisco Fastpacs will receive money when ice cream is delivered through the Wing drone-delivery service. The subsidiary of Google’s parent company, Alphabet, launched the service April 7 for select Frisco and Little Elm residents and held a community launch event at Simpson Plaza.
Margaret Nagle, head of policy, regulatory and community affairs at Wing, said Fastpacs is able to feed one child for one full weekend with $7, and donations from Blue Bell will help the nonprofit combat food insecurity.
“Two pints of Blue Bell ice cream also happens to cost right around $7,” Nagle said. “Every time you order two pints of Blue Bell ice cream via Wing drone delivery, you'll be helping Fastpacs feed local students.”
