Rockhill Parkway

Construction is about 55 percent complete on Rockhill Parkway, a new six-lane divided roadway. The first portion of the project spans from CR 26 to Dallas Parkway. The second portion of the project spans from Dallas Parkway to Preston Road. The project will include a new bridge as well as retaining walls, street lighting and landscaping.

Dallas Parkway improvements

Construction is expected to start this year to add an additional northbound and southbound frontage road lane and to add turn lanes at intersections. Design work on the project, which spans from SH 121 to Lebanon Road, began in April. In March, the Collin County Commissioners Court agreed to contribute to funding for the project.

West Stonebrook Parkway extension

Construction on West Stonebrook Parkway is ongoing to connect Stonebrook from Fighting Eagles Lane to Longhorn Trail. The roadway is about 85 percent complete and includes building an underpass beneath the BNSF railroad tracks. The project includes paving, adding sidewalks and lighting.

Cost: $17.75 million

Funding sources: city of Frisco, Texas Department of Transportation, North Central Texas Council of Governments

FM 423 expansion

Construction work on FM 423 both north and south of Eldorado Parkway in Frisco and Little Elm is ongoing. The Frisco portion of the project will widen the road from two lanes to six lanes from Eldorado Parkway to US 380. Work on the 3.48-mile section began in October and is expected to be complete by 2018. Construction in the beginning phases includes temporary pavement for culvert work, temporary traffic signals, excavation and embankment work. The project is about 15 percent complete.

Timeline: October 2014-July 2018 (Frisco section), October 2014-October 2017 (Little Elm section)

Cost: $29.8 million (Frisco section), $57.9 million (Little Elm section)

East Main Street

Major construction on East Main Street from Preston Road to Custer Road continues to progress. The project is about 85 percent complete. When finished, the former two-lane roadway will be replaced with a six-lane concrete roadway. The south side of the road was completed first, and traffic is traveling on that side of the road until construction is finished.
