Shoppers should see little difference in the Frisco Market Street store when its parent company, United Supermarket, is officially acquired by Albertson's later this fall, according to United officials.
"Alberton's LLC has a decentralized approach for its business units," said Robert Taylor, CEO of United. "This will allow United to continue with our commitment to ultimate guest service and investment in the communities we serve. Albertson's LLC feels that the United team runs wonderful stores and wants to preserve our team as is and provide our company with the autonomy to continue running our operation as we see fit."
United and Albertson's announced the deal Sept. 9. The transaction is expected to be complete by the end of October, subject to government approval.
The United Supermarket stores, with include United Supermarkets, Market Street, Amigo and United Express, will continue to operate under their own store names.
