Frisco volunteers log 24,000 plus hours in 2014

The volunteers who donated the most hours of service or showed dedication in their work were awarded for their service. The following are the award-winning volunteers of 2014:

Julia Cleath, Spirit Award: The Spirit Award goes to a volunteer, nominated by city staff, who embodies the spirit of volunteerism. Julia Cleath volunteered much of her time at Frisco's Fire Safety Town.

Rene Gracia, Rookie of the Year: Rene Gracia began volunteering last year at the Frisco Police Department as a Citizen on Patrol.

Donna Anderson, Silver Award: Donna Anderson donated more than 400 hours at the Frisco Heritage Museum.

Lee Wilson, Gold Award: Lee Wilson logged more than 500 hours as a Citizen on Patrol.

Ken Ditmore, Teen Volunteer of the Year: Ken Ditmore has volunteered more than 80 hours at Frisco Fire Safety Town, helping with community safety education and special events.

Hal Thomas, Volunteer of the Year: Hal Thomas donated more than 600 hours as a Citizen on Patrol.

Along with the award-winning volunteers, the city also recognized 189 Team Players, those who donated 10 to 24 hours of service in 2014; 155 Shining Stars, those who donated 25 to 99 hours of service; and 39 Superstars, those who donated 100 or more hours of service.
