The Frisco City Council has formed a Charter Review Commission and named 11 members to review and oversee possible changes to the city charter.
According to the current city charter, the charter must be reviewed every six years at the longest and no sooner than every two years. The last charter review was in 2009.
Frisco City Secretary Jenny Page said the commission is required to finish its review within a six-month period. The committee should be finished in late December or early January, which would allow time for a required public hearing on the changes.
The council could then, in February, call for a special May election in conjunction with the city's annual regular election.
