Frisco ISD board of trustees approved several construction projects at a Sept. 14 meeting.
The trustees approved a change order for the Memorial Stadium expansion for an additional $356,968.
In March, trustees approved a contract for CORE Construction in the amount of $3.4 million for improvements to the stadium. However the project was delayed.
Richard Wilkinson, deputy superintendent for Business Services, told the board the reason for the delay is because Oncor electrical service lines were not documented.
Wilkinson said construction of the new concession building could not start until the lines were moved, which could take a considerable amount of time.
CORE construction also added more to the project such as additional paving and ramps, correcting existing drainage issues and upgrading the sound system in the press box and more.
Because of this, CORE Construction had to increase the contract amount from $3.4 million to $3.8 million. However the amount still comes in under budget of the $4.2 established in the 2014 bond.
Any unused funds will be returned to FISD.
