FISD releases more detailed proposed elementary school zones

Frisco ISD officials have released more detailed maps of the proposed new elementary school zones.

The maps outline individual neighborhoods and list the proposed changes, if any, for each.

The proposed elementary school zones were first released at the Nov. 11 board meeting. The zoning is being changed to accommodate four new elementary schools opening in 2014.

Parents will have the opportunity to voice opinions at the Dec. 16 board meeting. A final decision is expected to be made at the Jan. 13 board meeting.

A final decision on high school rezoning to include Independence High School, also opening in 2014, is expected to be made at the Dec. 16 board meeting. Parents voiced opinions on high school rezoning at the Nov. 11 board meeting.
