Road to be six lanes from FM 423 to Preston by summer 2015
By the end of the year, there should be no more cones, no more traffic rerouting and no more construction on the eastern section of Stonebrook Parkway from the Dallas North Tollway to Preston Road.
City Engineering Division Manager Jason Brodigan said the nearly $12.13 million city project is nearing completion.
"We are hoping drivers are staying positive through the process," Brodigan said. "We are in the home stretch now."
By July 2015, with the completion of the half-mile section of road from Fighting Eagles Lane to Longhorn Trail, Stonebrook Parkway will be six lanes from FM 423 to Preston Road where Stonebrook changes to Rolater Road.
Two major projects remain for the eastbound section—striping the third lane and relocating traffic signals, Brodigan said. Striping the lane requires a period of time when no rain is expected. The city is aiming for the first week of June.
The third lane opened May 30.
A schedule for relocating the signal lights has not yet been set.
