Here are updates from each of Frisco's six hospitals.
1. Baylor Scott & White Medical-Centennial
Baylor Scott & White Centennial is a Level III trauma center, with a Level II NICU. Additionally, the hospital has 118 total beds available.
The hospital recently opened a labor and delivery triage unit that provides specialized care for expectant mothers needing urgent treatment, a Baylor representative said. Baylor Scott & White Centennial is also Frisco’s first Level III maternal-care facility, which is the second-highest level a hospital can obtain.
2. Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Frisco
Baylor Scott & White Frisco features a Level II NICU and has 68 total beds. The hospital does not have a trauma level designation.
The medical center emphasizes women’s health care, a hospital representative said. The location’s women’s services program is equipped for labor and delivery, breast surgery and gynecological examinations and treatment.
3. Texas Health Hospital Frisco
Texas Health Hospital Frisco is a Level III Trauma Center, with 893 physicians and 350 nurses. The medical center offers a variety of health services, including back and spine, cardiology, women’s health and maternity care, digestive health, emergency services and intensive care.
The hospital opened its second catheterization lab for its heart and vascular programs last fall. The new lab will help the hospital physicians diagnose coronary artery disease, heart failure, heart valve disease and peripheral artery disease.
4. Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Frisco at PGA Parkway
Baylor Scott & White Frisco at PGA Parkway, which opened last year, offers inpatient care, comprehensive emergency care, surgical services and extensive women’s health services. The hospital does not have a trauma or NICU level designation.
A Baylor representative said the medical center recently expanded several specialty services by adding advanced gastrointestinal procedures and a full-time pulmonology program.
5. Medical City Frisco
The hospital celebrated its 10-year anniversary in April. The 97-bed acute care hospital offers cardiovascular, neurological, spine, orthopedics, women’s services and other specialties.
6. Scottish Rite for Children Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Center
Frisco’s Scottish Rite for Children location specializes in orthopedic care and sports medicine for children, including general orthopedic care, a fracture clinic, rheumatology, on-site radiology and a physical therapy gym.
The medical center’s Movement Science Lab now offers injury risk assessments that use motion capture technology to identify movement deficiencies based on each athlete’s specific sport.
