1. Medical City Frisco
What we reported Medical City Healthcare, a Medical City Plano facility, purchased the bankrupt Forest Park Medical Center in Frisco in February and reopened the hospital in April under a new name, Medical City Frisco.
The latest Medical City Frisco is investing $41 million to expand and introduce new services. The emergency department is being expanded from three to nine rooms while remaining operational. The hospital is also adding a catheterization laboratory to provide advanced heart intervention and treatment. Both projects will be complete by February. The hospital is also renovating the fourth floor into a dedicated women’s services unit, which will have 14 labor and delivery suites, two operating suites, a nursery and a neonatal intensive care unit. The women’s services unit will open in the spring.
What’s next In the future, Medical City Frisco has plans to expand with a new building. The hospital bought a 5-acre tract of land north of the hospital for future expansion.

2. Baylor Scott & White Medical Center—Centennial
What we reported Baylor Scott & White Health entered a joint venture with Tenet Healthcare Corporation in January 2016 to own five North Texas hospitals, including Centennial Medical Center in Frisco. The hospital was rebranded Baylor Scott & White Medical Center–Centennial.
