Frisco City Council approved the potential development of townhomes or offices in west Frisco.
Frisco City Council unanimously approved zoning changes to a 2.1-acre lot off FM 423 from agricultural to planned development with a focus on townhomes and office during a July 7 meeting.

The site currently has an automotive repair shop located on the north end of the site, but the rest is undeveloped.
Three neighbors to the site had concerns about the site because of vehicles on the road, trash regularly on the lot and fencing concerns. Development Services Director John Lettelleir said the trash on the site and vehicles related to the business along the neighborhood road are not allowed and code enforcement will look into the concerns.
On part of the site are sheds and a mobile home, which will need to be removed now that the zoning has changed, Lettelleir said, which was also a concern for residents.
Frisco Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval during a July 7 planning meeting ahead of council approval.
Fencing and a landscape buffer are expected to be added around the automotive business along with a sidewalk by August 2027, Lettelleir said.
“This is a property that we’ve wanted to do more with, we’ve wanted to clean up and wanted to make better not just the immediate neighborhood but this entire area,” council member Laura Rummel said. “I do think this a giant step in the right direction, and it gives us the opportunity for a future development that will be a lot better experienced than what we are seeing right now.”
