Frisco voters will elect a new mayor June 13.
The runoff election’s early voting ran June 1-9. During that time, 25,427 registered voters cast a ballot at a Frisco polling location.
What you need to know
Two candidates continue to vie for the mayoral seat in Frisco. Rod Vilhauer and Mark Hill topped a four-person race for mayor in May. They now face off in the runoff.
The mayoral race does not have an incumbent running because Mayor Jeff Cheney termed out of the position. It will be the first time Frisco will have a new mayor since 2017, when Cheney was first elected mayor.
The mayor is in charge of facilitating City Council meetings and only votes to break a tie.

During early voting, voters can cast a ballot at any polling location in Collin or Denton counties. At all Collin County polling locations, 13,009 voters cast ballots in a runoff election. In Denton County, 12,418 voters cast ballots.
Denton County races include the race for Frisco mayor, two Denton seats and a town of Providence Village race. In Collin County, races include representation in Sachse and Frisco.
On election day, Collin County voters can cast a ballot at any polling location. Denton County residents must cast a ballot at their specific polling place.
