Another candidate files for Place 3 on Frisco ISD's board of trustees

The race for Place 3 on the Frisco ISD board of trustees will now have at least two candidates.

Stephanie Elad filed to run in the May 7 election on Jan. 24, according to her election filing. Elad works as a human resources director, her filing stated. She has been a Frisco ISD resident for more than eight years.

Elad will face Dustin Paschal as FISD voters decide who will be Board Member Chad Rudy’s replacement. Rudy said in November that he will not seek re-election.

Candidates seeking places 1 and 2 on the school board will also be on the May ballot. As of 5 p.m. Jan. 28, these candidates have filed:

Place 1

• Gopal Ponangi (incumbent)

Place 2

• Natalie Hebert (incumbent)
• Kelly Karthik

Place 3

• Stephanie Elad
• Dustin Paschal

In addition to the election filings, six other people have filed campaign treasurer appointments, which is among the first steps involved in running for elective office. Those filings were made by Brian Bash, John Davis, Michael Draper, Angela Dunford, Marvin Lowe and Jennifer Stanley.
