With several options in the works, graduation ceremonies will still occur for Frisco ISD seniors

If schools continue to be closed further into May or through the rest of the school year, Plan B is a drive-thru graduation with social distancing measures in place at each high school, Waldrip said.

“We’re still working through the details,” he said during the meeting.

If the plan for drive-thru graduation ceremonies falls through, Plan C involves a virtual graduation ceremony for each high school, Waldrip said.

Waldrip said no matter the plan, valedictorian and salutatorian speeches and a principal address will still occur. Opportunities for families to be involved will still be possible to an extent, he said.

“We’ll try to make it the best situation we can for seniors,” Waldrip said. “I just want to put everyone’s mind at ease. I think everybody wants to do something for the seniors, and we know that it’s been a very difficult year for that set of students in particular.”
