Frisco has several construction projects in the works in an effort to improve traffic.
The public works and engineering services department provided updates to Frisco City Council on Sept. 7 in its monthly capital improvement report.
Legacy Drive
The Legacy Drive widening project from SH 121 to Warren Parkway is underway and on schedule, according to the report.
Existing lanes are being reconstructed, and the road is being widened from four lanes to six lanes between SH 121 and Warren Parkway. The project also includes the widening of Town and Country Boulevard to accommodate future bike lanes.
Detours, temporary pavement and signals at Town and Country Boulevard, Country Club Drive and Stonebriar Drive are complete, the report said.
A traffic switch was performed in late August, according to the report, which reduced both northbound and southbound directions to one lane of travel. Both directions now share the west half of the road, and will continue for the next nine months.

Town and Country Boulevard
Work for new eastbound travel lanes on Town and Country Boulevard from Spring Creek Parkway to Legacy Drive is underway and on schedule.
Land on the south side of the existing roadway has been cleared for the new lanes. Excavation for the new lanes and utility work will soon occur.
Meadow Hill Drive
Construction documents are being finalized for the Meadow Hill Drive reconstruction project, according to the report. The project will span from Rogers Road to Preston Road and will include concrete pavement, sidewalk, drainage modifications and capacity improvements at Preston Road.
The project is expected to be advertised for bids in late October, with consideration for award by City Council in November.
Panther Creek Parkway
About 90% of the design of Panther Creek Parkway from Dallas North Tollway to Preston Road will be completed in September and submitted to city staff for review and comment.
Right of way and easement acquisition for the project will begin in September in preparation for the start of construction in early 2022.
Fields Parkway
Roughly 30% of the design of Fields Parkway from Teel Parkway to Dallas Parkway was completed in mid-August, according to the report. The project will provide a complete four- and six-lane roadway and will provide additional access to the Fields development.
