Food pantry seeks donations
Because of extra demand caused by those who evacuated from Hurricane Harvey-stricken areas, Frisco Family Services' food pantry is running low on several items. The items most in needs are:
- Sugar
- Flour
- Boxed meal helpers
- boxed potatoes
- Pasta
- Jelly
- Cooking oil
- Baking mixes
- Jell-O
- Juice boxes
- Crackers
- Granola bars
- Oatmeal
Donations can be dropped off 9 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays (or until 6 p.m. Wednesdays) at 9085 Dogwood St. Learn more here.
State legislators to answer questions over coffee
State Sen. Van Taylor, R-Plano, and State Rep. Justin Holland, R-Rockwall, will be at the Frisco Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday for a Q&A session. The free event will take place 8-9:30 a.m. at 6843 Main St. Registering for the event is encouraged, but not required.
Council to discuss Downtown Master Plan, urban living high rise
Frisco City Council will consider several items at Tuesday's meeting, including hiring a firm to help update the Downtown Master Plan and a specific use permit for an urban living high rise at The Star in Frisco. Council will also vote on the city's Fiscal Year 2017-18 budget and tax rate. The meeting begins at 5 p.m. at Frisco City Hall, 6101 Frisco Square Blvd. View the agenda here.
