Q&A: Meet the Democratic primary candidates running for US House District 26

Why are you running for office?

I’m running to bring practical, accountable leadership to Congress. As a frontline health care provider, I’ve seen how rising costs, broken systems and political dysfunction affect families. North Texas deserves solutions-focused representation that puts people over politics and delivers real results.

What are the biggest challenges facing the district?

The biggest challenges are affordability, access to health care, infrastructure strain from rapid growth and government dysfunction. Families are feeling squeezed by rising costs while Washington focuses on political theater instead of practical solutions that support local communities and keep North Texas competitive.

How do you plan to address these issues?

I’ll address these issues by advancing cost-control legislation, supporting targeted infrastructure funding, and demanding transparency and oversight in Congress. I plan to work across party lines, rely on evidence-based policy and use frontline health care experience to evaluate what actually works for families.

What would your top priorities be if you are elected?

My top priorities would be lowering health care and prescription drug costs, strengthening infrastructure to keep pace with growth, protecting civil rights and democratic norms, and restoring accountability in Congress so government works for families, not special interests.

Why are you running for office?

I am extremely disappointed in Congress for serving the top 1% vs. all Americans and for creating division, fear and hate. I’m running to put Congress back to working for the people’s needs and the good of the nation. Stop Executive overreach. Take back control of tariffs, war powers, oversight.

What are the biggest challenges facing the district?

Congressional District 26 is a mix of rural to suburban with Metroplex adjacent. We have every challenge from cost of living vs. wages, healthcare, transportation, water, food, ICE, international trade, fear and hate, managing huge growth, and more. CD26 needs strong cooperative coordinated US House representation.

How do you plan to address these issues?

Care, listen, work with community leaders and citizens, identify and target specific needs. Communicate and coordinate with all 435 US representatives to build bridges and pass bills for a better tomorrow. One community–not divided. Putting people’s needs first!

What would your top priorities be if you are elected?

Put people’s needs first in three categories. People & Communities: housing, healthcare, living wages, water, education. Nation: balanced budget, progressive tax structure, money out of politics, voting rights, human rights, immigration reform, restore governmental agencies. International: restore reputation, respect international law, USAID, NATO, counter disease, encourage trade and peace.
