Argyle ISD has launched a new initiative for the 2023-24 school year called the Eagle Ambassador Program, which will involve participation from parents and community members. The first meeting was held Sept. 20 and included the 50 members, or "ambassadors" of the program.
Background
This program was created by Superintendent Courtney Carpenter with the goal to encourage community through open dialogue and collaboration. Argyle ISD Director of Communications Richard Herrin said in an email the ambassadors are "conduits to the community" of district stakeholders. The first 50 members to sign up for the role via a Google form were selected to be in the inaugural class of ambassadors.
Herrin said more than 200 parents and community members expressed interest in joining the program this year. Members also partner with the district to learn details about district operations and how the district is managing growth and planning for the future.
