A stretch of Bonnie Brae Street will reopen in August and FM 1515 will undergo a widening project. Check out five road construction projects happening around Denton. This list is not comprehensive.
Upcoming projects
FM 1515 widening
Project: Texas Department of Transportation documents show FM 1515 will undergo renovations to widen the roadway from two lanes to six lanes, which will be divided by a median.
Update: Crews are relocating water and wastewater utilities ahead of the road widening. Future utilities relocations include telecommunications lines and energy utilities. Utilities relocations are expected to be complete in March 2027.
Ongoing projects
Redstone Road rebuild
Project: Crews are working to replace the waterline, sewer, curb, gutter and portions of the sidewalk and will rebuild the roadway on Redstone Road from Hercules Road until it dead ends at North Elm Street. The project is part of the Neighborhood 1B bond package approved by voters in 2019.
Update: Utility work on the southern half between Hercules Lane and Atlas Lane is complete. Workers are installing the water line on the northern portion of the project between Atlas Lane and the road’s end at North Elm Street.
Bonnie Brae Street renovations
Project: Bonnie Brae Street is undergoing a seven-phase renovation that will create additional lanes and a mixed-use path along the roadway. The road segment between Riney Road and US 77 is part of the project’s sixth phase. The road segment will receive new drainage, traffic lights and roadway.
Update: Crews are working to install the new roadway.
Donna Road updates
Project: Donna Road will receive new water and sewer lines, curb, gutter, a total roadway replacement and partial sidewalk reconstruction between North Elm Street through the end of the road, north past Del Drive. Voters approved the project in 2019 as part of the Neighborhood 1B bond package.
Update: Crews are wrapping up concrete work ahead of final paving.
West Mulberry Street renovations
Project: Crews are extending the waterlines along the roadway as part of the development for The Renegade, a multifamily housing development in downtown Denton.
Update: The road between Carroll Boulevard and Locust Street closed in early April. Crews are installing, testing and connecting the new waterline and restoring the roadway.
