Several roads in Denton are closed for construction, including part of Bonnie Brae Street and Mulberry Street, according to a May 22 city of Denton staff report.

Bonnie Brae Street
Bonnie Brae Street is closed from Riney Road to US 77 while crews build new southbound lanes. Bonnie Brae Street currently is undergoing a seven-phase renovation project that started in 2017. The project’s total cost across all seven phases is $146 million, according to city data.
The closure between US 77 and Riney Road is part of the project’s sixth phase. The closed segment is scheduled to reopen in late July, according to a city staff report. City officials expect to complete the sixth phase in April 2027.
Carril Al Lago Drive
The road, which is north of the Rayzor Ranch shopping center, closed between Bonnie Brae Street and Aurora Lane in late May. Workers are demolishing the median and intersection to accommodate the new right of way. The road will reopen June 8.
Welch Street
Workers are replacing asphalt and concrete along the road segment. The road closed May 27 and will reopen June 12, according to the staff report.
Mulberry Street
Mulberry Street between South Locust Street and South Carroll Boulevard closed April 8. Crews are extending the waterline along the roadway, and the road is scheduled to reopen June 10.
Redstone Road
The road, located in north Denton, is closed between Hercules Lane and Neptune Drive for asphalt repaving and utilities replacement. The project is part of the Neighborhood 1B bond package approved by voters in 2019. The road closed in May 2025 and is scheduled to reopen June 12.
