More tennis and pickleball classes and events will be available at the Denton Tennis and Pickleball Center following council approval of a $1.35 million contract with Impact Activities at a July 14 meeting.

Tennis and pickleball events and management company Impact Activities will start teaching the existing Monday-Saturday tennis and pickleball classes in early August, city staff said. Impact Activities will also create more events based on community feedback. Council documents state the contract will allow the city to increase the frequency and variety of recreation programs and improve the recreation experience for participants.
The contract states the company will provide 60-to-90-minute classes for elementary, middle and high school age groups as well as adults. The contract also states that Impact Activities will run and organize tournaments at the tennis and pickleball center.
