Denton Halloween HQ opens on the square ahead of 31 Days of Halloween

The designated Halloween Capital of Texas has an official merchandise headquarters.

Denton Halloween HQ is now open inside the former Discover Denton Visitor Center on the square at 111 W. Hickory St. The initiative is a collaboration between the city and Denton Halloween Co, which helps produce and organize the monthlong 31 Days of Denton Halloween festival. 

According to a city Facebook post, the headquarters is an all-in-one stop where guests can buy Denton Halloween merchandise, such as T-shirts and mugs, and inquire about Denton Halloween events. 

Guests are encouraged to come in and ask for directions. It also serves as Denton’s Ghostbusters Headquarters, home of The North Texas Ghostbusters during the Halloween season.

For the rest of September, the headquarters will be closed Sept. 28 and open Sept. 29-30 from 11 a.m.-7 p.m.

Starting Oct. 1, the headquarters will have the following schedule:

• Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. 

• Friday through Saturday, 10 a.m.-midnight

While some Halloween events already have begun in Denton hosted by local businesses and community members, the city’s 31 Days of Halloween will kick off Oct. 1 with the Blocktober Party & Pumpkin Drop at the Quakertown Civic Center, located at 321 E. McKinney St. in Denton.
