Students in Richardson ISD returned to classrooms across the district Aug. 13.
Parents and students alike headed to campuses across the district, including Lake Highlands Elementary School and Richardson Heights Elementary School, to say goodbyes ahead of the first day of the 2024-25 school year.

The district currently operates 51 schools, including 37 elementary schools, according to information on the district’s website. The 2024-25 school year is the first after the district’s board of trustees voted to consolidate four elementary school campuses last March.
