Colorado-based indoor ski school Shredder Ski School is set to open in Richardson later this year.

The business is geared toward teaching children ages 1-10 how to ski and snowboard, Richardson franchisee Robert Lacey said. In addition to regular classes, he added the business is expected to host summer camps, parents night out events and private parties.

The location will be Shredder’s first in Texas with other locations in Colorado, and planned in Illinois and Michigan. Lacey said the business is also the first indoor ski and snowboard school in the Dallas area.

A special permit for the business was approved by Richardson City Council in October.
