A new church is coming to Celina.

Portrait Church is expected to open in September, Lead Pastor David Smullin said in an email.

The nondenominational church will meet in the Martin Elementary School and hold “sneak preview services” Aug. 15 and Aug. 25, Smullin said.

“Portrait Church is being conceived out of the conviction that people have an incomplete picture of God that keeps them from experiencing all that God has for them,” Smullin said. “Being positioned in the Bible Belt, it's more likely people have tried church, but they didn't find what they were looking for. Portrait represents an invitation to look again.”
