Celina ISD is set to have three new elementary schools finish construction before the 2027-28 school year.

The district’s board of trustees approved the maximum price for the new school sites during a Nov. 17 board meeting.

The first guaranteed maximum price is for the Uptown school site, a new elementary school in the Uptown neighborhood located north of Celina’s downtown area between Preston Road and the future Dallas North Tollway. The guaranteed maximum price for the school is $52.07 million.

The board of trustees also approved a site work agreement for the campus. The district will spend $7.5 million for the construction of new roads, water, sewer and fiber infrastructure on the Uptown site. The cost of this work will be reimbursed by Uptown Municipal Utility District No. 1 of Collin County within five years, according to an interlocal agreement approved by the CISD school board.


The Uptown school’s construction is scheduled to begin in the early 2026 and be completed before the start of the 2027-28 school year, according to the agenda.

The second guaranteed maximum price was $50.75 million for a new elementary school in the Green Meadows community. Construction of the school is scheduled to begin in early 2026 and be completed before the 2027-28 school year, the agenda states.

The third school’s guaranteed maximum price is $51.39 million. The elementary school is located in the planned Ramble neighborhood and will start construction in early 2026 and be completed before the 2027-28 school year, the agenda states.
