Prosper ISD officials seek feedback on 2024-25 academic calendar options

Prosper ISD officials have narrowed down to two calendar options for the 2024-25 school year and are seeking feedback from community members.

The deadline to submit feedback through the district's survey is Thursday, Dec. 7. The district’s board of trustees have final approval of the academic calendar.

The details

Both calendar options have the teachers returning to school Aug. 2, 2024, and the first day of the school year for students being Aug. 13. The semester lengths are also the same between the calendar options with the fall semester being 84 days and the spring semester having 89 days.

The calendar options differ on the end of winter break, the last day of school and graduation dates.

What are the options?

Option A for the 2024-25 school year includes:

• Students returning from winter break on Jan. 7
• A professional learning day with a student holiday Feb. 14
• Last day of school is May 23
• Graduations are on May 23-24

Option B includes:

• Students return from winter break on Jan. 6
• Last day of school is May 21
• Graduations are from May 21-23
