Volleys Village, a mixed-use development anchored by a tennis club, has been approved by Prosper Town Council.
In addition to the tennis club, the development will include a hotel, event center, retail, restaurants and office space. Council approved a request to rezone 54.2 acres from agricultural uses to a planned development at a June 23 meeting.

The development’s central tennis club will draw business to Prosper by making the town a “destination” for tennis and pickleball, project representative Bill Dahlstrom said.
According to Dahlstrom’s presentation, the tennis club will include:
10 indoor tennis courts
14 outdoor tennis courts
10 indoor pickleball courts
5,000-square-foot gym
Swimming pool
Pro shop with snack bar
The club will also house a tennis academy led by a former professional tennis player with coaching experience at Southern Methodist University, Dahlstrom said.
What to expect
Plans for the development include construction of a street connecting FM 1385 and Parvin Road to help alleviate congestion, according to town documents.

Phase 1 of the development will cover the tennis club, the street and the block of retail, restaurant and office space along FM 1385, Mayor Pro Tem Amy Bartley said.
The developer agreed to build the foundation of the tennis club and secure building permits for the facility before starting construction on any subsequent phases.
Additional phasing will be based on market conditions, and construction of the entire project is expected to take three to five years, according to a development schedule submitted by the applicant.
