With a background in the fashion industry, Morris and her daughter, Lily, decided to open Lily Claire in Prosper in 2020.
“I am a stylist at heart,” Morris said. “I love helping people find their personal style. I think that makes us a little different.”
The backstory
Morris previously worked for the luxury department store Saks Fifth Avenue as the fashion and marketing director where she organized runway shows and other events. She left Saks Fifth Avenue when she became a mother but continued to work as a stylist.
“I’ve always loved fashion, and I wanted to get back into it,” Morris said. “My daughter was in high school in 2020 and kept saying, ‘Let’s open a boutique.’”
Morris was skeptical at first but ultimately opened Lily Claire in November 2020.
“The space became available, and everything fell into place,” Morris said of opening a business during the COVID-19 pandemic. “I just decided to go for it, and it was a great decision.”
What’s special about it?
Lily Claire offers several services, such as the Lily Claire Style Box, a kit containing items handpicked by Morris. The box includes additional information about styling the merchandise.
Other services include closet clean-outs, fashion classes and style parties.
Morris said the closet clean-out service is one that people don’t take advantage of “as much as they should.”
“Everybody has a closet full of clothes that they don’t wear anymore,” Morris said. “I love showing them you can make these outfits, and maybe you don’t want that anymore. That’s definitely a service I love.”
Morris said they offer fashion shows either at a client’s house or venue to showcase the latest fashion trends.
Who it’s for
Morris said Lily Claire is different from other boutiques in the area because it is eclectic and offers a mixture of boho, modern and vintage styles, adding that the shop has something for everyone.
“I love when I find my people and when clothes find their people,” Morris said. “It’s just been really fun discovering that and having people discover us.”
