Upcoming projects
1. Arterial Overlay 2026

Project: Small arterial concrete repairs on Legacy Drive between Coit Road and Custer Road, on Park Boulevard between the West City Limit and Preston Road, on Parker Road between Independence Parkway and US 75 and on Independence Parkway between Parker Road and Spring Creek Parkway. The city will also mill and overlay existing asphalt for railroad crossings on Plano Parkway and Jupiter Road.
Update: Ultra-thin overlay work is expected to begin in June.
2. Cotton Belt Regional Trail Phase 2
Project: A Dallas Area Rapid Transit, or DART, trail that extends from Plano’s Shiloh Station to Fort Worth’s Trinity Trails. Phase 2 of the project stretches from Addison to Plano.
Update: DART is currently working on signal crossings and drainage near N Avenue.
Project: Sewer improvements from Coit Road to Independence Parkway.
Update: Public Works Community Investment Project Manager Drew Zaeske said the contractor is working on placing temporary asphalt in Plano Parkway to get turn lanes opened back up to traffic. The project is still on track to be complete by spring 2027.
Project: Removal and replacement for 3,065 feet of street pavement, driveways, barrier free ramps and 3,225 feet of waterline.
Update: Zaeske said waterline installation is complete from Municipal to P Avenue. Drainage pipes are being installed, and pavement replacements will take place immediately after.
Project: Removal and rehabilitation of existing reinforced arterial concrete and sidewalk repair on and near Custer Road from Spring Creek Parkway to Hedgecoxe Road.
Update: Zaeske said the contractor is working south of Legacy Drive on Custer Road. Nighttime intersection work will take place at Legacy and Custer from June 1-12. He said the project is estimated to be completed by fall 2026.
Project: Road bridge replacement across Pittman Creek, which includes damaged drainage culverts.
Update: Two lanes of traffic will be open in each direction. The median on Parker Road is being converted to a temporary path for traffic and streetlights between Canoncita Lane and Bandolino Lane will be off until construction ends.
Project: Arterial concrete repair along Coit Road from SH 190 to Parker Road.
Update: Zaeske said the contractor is working south of 15th Street toward SH 190. The project is on track to be completed by late summer 2026.
