Spinoso Real Estate Group recently acquired The Shops at Willow Bend shopping mall, according to the real estate company's website. Based out of Syracuse, New York, SREG specializes in creating value for large-scale retail and retail-based mixed-use projects, according to its website.

Plano’s only remaining indoor shopping mall previously changed hands in April 2020 amid coronavirus-related shutdowns and a $125 million expansion project that began in 2017. Starwood Retail Partners purchased The Shops at Willow Bend in October 2014 and began a redesign to overhaul the mall, according to a 2015 news release. Starwood Retail Partners had been spearheading a construction project to revamp the property but lost control of it in court proceedings, according to an April 23, 2020, letter to tenants obtained by Community Impact Newspaper. The court placed the mall in possession of Trigild, a company with offices in Dallas and San Diego that acts as a fiduciary for properties in bankruptcy proceedings, among other services.

According to its website, The Shops at Willow Bend features more than 100 stores, including Macy's, Neiman Marcus and Dillard's. It is located at 6121 W. Park Blvd., Plano. 972-202-4900. www.shopwillowbend.com
