David McDavid Acura will make its new home on the west side of the Dallas North Tollway, 700 feet south of Spring Creek Parkway, after Plano City Council approved a rezoning request and a specific-use permit April 26.

Park Place LX Land Company No. 1 Ltd. plans to move the dealership from its current location on Plano Parkway, west of Coit Road, to 5 acres located between its sister facility Park Place Lexus and Ewing Mercedes and across from Classic BMW. The zoning change brings the property in line with the surrounding zoning.

The new site will feature Acura’s updated brand standard and will be only the second of its kind in the country, according to Brad Williams, who was representing the dealership at the council meeting. The project will include a 58,000-square-foot building at a maximum height of 32 feet, 39 service bays, 18,000 square feet of showroom and 2,700 square feet of office space, according to a letter submitted to the city as part of the rezoning request. About 15% of the property will be dedicated to landscape.

Once Acura moves from its existing location, it is anticipated that it will be replaced by another auto sales use, the letter stated.
