Plans are in the works for a new Kroger in Plano on the northwest corner of Coit Road and Ridgeview Road, just south of SH 121, according to Kroger and city of Plano officials.

The new store would be located across Coit from the existing Kroger store at 9700 Coit Road. No details have been released about plans for the current store.

“Kroger is currently working with the city for planning and zoning approvals for a new store in Plano,” Kroger spokesperson John Votava said in an email. “We hope to share more at a later date.”

Plano Planning Director Christina Day said there are city plans under review for a new Kroger, although the new store is not scheduled to be discussed at a specific Planning and Zoning Commission agenda yet, as the city is “still working through staff comments.”

The city of Plano zoning map shows a 26-acre parcel of land on the northwest corner of Coit and Ridgeview under review for a “convenience store, restaurant, retail, superstore and vacant lot on 12 lots.” The land is zoned for regional employment commercial use.

There are five Kroger locations in Plano.
