The gist
The Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas, also called FIRST, is issued annually by the Texas Education Agency.
The district received a perfect score of 100. Plano ISD has earned a superior rating in every school year since 2015-16, and has earned a perfect score in each of the last two years. The 2024-25 scores are issued based on financial data from the previous school year.
The TEA’s scoring levels include:
- A, superior: 90-100
- B, above standard: 80-89
- C, meets standard: 70-79
- F, substandard: 0-69
“This perfect FIRST score highlights our commitment to excellence and strong financial stewardship,” PISD Chief Financial Officer Courtney Reeves said in the release. “It assures our community that every decision we make is guided by integrity and focused on student success.”
