Children’s Medical Center Plano has officially opened its new patient tower, which triples the campus’ bed count, according to a news release from Children’s Health.

The new 395,000-square-foot tower adds 140 universal and ICU-capable inpatient beds, according to the release.
Children’s Medical Center Plano’s expansion also includes a brand new emergency room with 48 exam rooms. The ER expansion is “critical” to Children’s Plano becoming certified as a Level II trauma center.
