The developer for a mixed-use development along the Silver Line filed a preliminary site plan with the city of Plano.

The planning and zoning commission approved the preliminary site plan for apartments and a restaurant, called Railside Lofts and Courts, along 13th Street between Municipal Avenue and N Avenue during the Aug. 5 meeting.

Two-minute impact

Up to 390 apartments will be allowed within the residential parts of the development, based on stipulations approved last October. According to city documents, residences will be housed within five-story buildings on the western portion of the property.

The preliminary site plan also details a five-story parking structure and several private courtyards in the development.

The developers for the site also plan for a restaurant concept from Austin-based Bouldin Acres, which will include an outdoor game area.

Looking ahead

Next steps in the development plan include filing a site plan with the city.

Based on development regulations adopted last year, construction is not allowed on the apartments until either the issuance of a building permit for the restaurant or Jan. 1, 2025.
