Residents have a chance to offer their thoughts on how some $28 million should be used for bicycle-pedestrian projects near schools and other improvements.
A meeting scheduled in Grapevine on Monday was cancelled because of icy roads, but two more are scheduled, one in Plano Tuesday and another in Arlington Thursday. Residents can watch a video of the Tuesday meeting at wwwnctcog.org/video.
The North-Central Texas Council of Governments wants feedback for the 2014 Transportation Alternatives Program Call for Projects. The projects can include bike-pedestrian facilities, projects near schools and boulevard/urban thoroughfare enhancements, according to a statement from NCTCOG.
Residents at the meetings hear about the AirCheckTexas Drive a Clean Machine Program, which helps motorists with emissions-related repairs or with purchase of cleaner vehicles. The program is getting read to start vehicle replacement assistance early next year.
