In the Republican primary race for United States Representative District 26, Michael Burgess took the nomination by a wide margin with a total of 33,175 votes in both Denton and Tarrant County, followed by Joel A. Krause with 6,406 total votes and Divenchy Watrous with 696 total votes.
With this nomination, Burgess will seek his sixth term in Congress. He thanked the voters for having the confidence to nominate him and in looking ahead, said he is focused on the healthcare bill.
"My legacy, if you want to call it that, will be in whatever we manage to get done in healthcare in the coming months and term next year," Burgess said.
