McKinney establishes school zones for new Emerson High

The city of McKinney established school zones for Emerson High School in a July 20 City Council meeting.

Emerson, Frisco ISD’s 11th high school, will open this year at 6300 Collin McKinney Parkway in west McKinney.

The maximum speed limit in the newly created zones will be 20 mph on school days between 8:15 and 9:15 a.m. and from 4:10-5:10 p.m.

The school zone boundaries are as follows:

• on eastbound Collin McKinney Parkway beginning at a point 940 feet east of Stars Avenue and extending eastward along Collin McKinney to a point 435 feet west of Stacy Road;
• on westbound Collin McKinney beginning at a point 295 feet west of Stacy and extending westward along Collin McKinney to a point 1,055 feet east of Stars;
• on northbound Stacy beginning at a point 325 feet south of Recioto Drive and extending northward along Stacy to a point 200 feet north of Recioto; and
