Texana Grill, a new restaurant offering a menu inspired by the Texas Hill Country, is set to open for to-go orders July 16.

Texana Grill will open in the former location of El Corazon Tex Mex restaurant, which has permanently closed. Its menu will include items such as smoked barbecue meats by the pound, hand-breaded chicken fingers and a version of stuffed jalapeños that are filled with brisket. Family meal kits will also be available for takeout.

“The menu is a road trip through Hill Country serving up dniner fare that’s a little more refined than you might expect with plenty of cold Texas beer to wash it all down,” owner Gilbert Cuellar said in a news release. “We have something for everyone on our menu.”

Texana Grill debuted in 1991 in Nashville, Tennessee. After eight years there, Texana Grill closed its doors and reopened in 2006 back in its home state of Texas, according to a news release. Now, the restaurant is bringing its Hill Country staples to North Texas diners.

The restaurant will open at 1222 N. Central Expressway, McKinney, for to-go orders. Orders can be made by calling the restaurant at 469-631-0011 or ordering online through Toast. A website is coming soon.
