Fried chicken chain Bojangles plans to open its first McKinney location by the end of the year, a company spokesperson said.

Bojangles locations serve chicken dishes, including chicken sandwiches, grilled chicken sandwiches and chicken tenders, according to its website. The restaurant also serves breakfast, including a line of biscuit sandwiches such as the chicken biscuit sandwich and the sausage, egg and cheese biscuit sandwich.

Other menu items include sides such as seasoned fries, macaroni and cheese, dirty rice, coleslaw and more, according to its website. Bojangles also offers sweets such as sweet potato pie and the restaurant’s signature Bo-Berry Biscuit, a biscuit filled with berries and topped with icing.

According to a development filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, construction of the McKinney restaurant will cost $1.4 million and will span 3,037 square feet.

The company has over 850 locations in 22 states. There are currently 17 Texas locations, including one in Frisco, the restaurant’s website states. Another McKinney location is slated for 8501 Eldorado Parkway, a company representative previously confirmed.
