McKinney officials have agreed to terms for development of an industrial and multifamily development on 141 acres along US 75.

What happened?

McKinney City Council members approved an annexation and zoning request for the land during a Dec. 2 meeting. The action comes after council members approved terms for annexation in July and formally approved a preannexation agreement in September.

The new zoning will enable development of up to 900 apartment units and a minimum of 25 acres of light industrial uses, according to a development agreement. The terms also include that residential uses will not be allowed within any area of the property that’s zoned for nonresidential purposes.

The annexation and development terms were executed with One Longhorn Corporation and North Texas Natural Select Materials, both of which own the 141 acres.
