Development work on Avendale Painted Tree, a build-to-rent neighborhood, was completed in early September, according to a news release.

The project by Colorado-based Avanta Residential includes 276 residences with one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom floor plans in various styles, the release states. The community, which is located in the Lakeside District of the Painted Tree development, also includes amenities such as a resort-style pool, fitness center and dog parks.

Pre-leasing for the community began in early 2024, with the first residents moving in later that year. The final construction work on the development was completed in 2025 and the leasing office opened in September, a representative of the development said. The community is 75% occupied, and rental prices range from $1,399-$3,110, the release states.

A ribbon cutting held Sept. 4 includes McKinney Chamber of Commerce representatives and Avanta Residential leadership.

“This ribbon-cutting celebrates not just the completion of a project, but the creation of a vibrant community where residents can truly feel at home,” Avanta Residential President Peter Spier said in the release.
