The preliminary environmental study of the proposed commercial service terminal at McKinney National Airport will be presented at two upcoming meetings, according to a news release.

The meetings are open house-style events in which community members can learn more about the project and provide feedback. The meetings are scheduled for:
  • 6-8 p.m. March 23 at Old Settler’s Recreation Center, 1201 E. Louisiana St.
  • 6-8 p.m. April 19 at Cockrill Middle School, 1351 S. Hardin Blvd.
A presentation on the project will be held at 6:15 p.m. followed by a come-and-go period when attendees can visit informational tables and provide feedback.

The study began in 2022 and is a preliminary version of the draft environmental assessment for the project, and covers the potential effects on things like water, wildlife, air quality, noise and more, according to a news release.

An additional public hearing with the opportunity for public feedback will be held for the draft environmental assessment prior to it being finalized and submitted to the Federal Aviation Administration and the Texas Department of Transportation Aviation.
