McKinney-based Pogue Construction has transitioned to an employee-owned structure through an employee stock ownership plan, according to a company news release.

Pogue Construction offers design and construction services for commercial, educational, municipal projects and more, its website states. Company Chairman and CEO Ben Pogue said in a statement that Pogue Construction’s employees have always been its “greatest strength” and it felt right that they were now part of its future.

“This is more than a change in structure,” Pogue said. “It is our way of saying thank you.”

Day-to-day operations will remain the same, the release states. Pogue will continue leading the company and the executive team will remain in place.

Pogue Construction was founded in 1979 in Sherman, Texas, according to its website. The company has worked on multiple projects across Texas, and also has offices in Fort Worth and Houston.
