Music education company Musicologie is set to open a studio in west McKinney.

The business, which is owned and operated by Gretchen and Matt Bley, will serve the communities of both McKinney and Prosper, a news release states. The studio offers “simply delightful” music lessons for infants as young as 6 months old as well as children and adults, the release states, including lessons in:
  • Bass
  • Drums
  • Guitar
  • Piano
  • Ukelele
  • Violin
  • Voice
The business will offer individual lessons as well as toddler music classes, group music classes, rock band performance classes and summer camps, according to the business’s website. The Musicologie method of music education focuses on providing lessons in a safe environment and through student-centered learning, the release states.

“We are incredibly excited to bring Musicologie and simply delightful music lessons to our area” Gretchen Bley said in the release. “Whether through Musicologie’s junior program, private lessons or group piano labs, Musicologie has a place for all ages and abilities.”

A grand opening event for the location is scheduled for 3-5 p.m., Sept. 13, and will include live music, games, studio tours and mini-lessons. Founding memberships are also being offered for the business ahead of the opening.
