Planet Fitness to debut McKinney location in July

Planet Fitness is opening soon in McKinney.

The 18,700-square-foot gym will offer a variety of cardio and strength fitness equipment, according to a news release. The location will also offer:

• Free weights
• Cross training and stretching areas
• Televisions spanning the length of the gym
• Private locker rooms with showers

The facility will also offer additional amenities for Planet Fitness Black Card members including a private lounge, tanning beds, massage chairs and more, the release stated.

“This club will have the best of the best when it comes to fitness with plenty of cardio to make sure you can get in and out for a workout on any schedule,” Excel Fitness CEO CJ Bouchard said in the release.

Excel Fitness is a Planet Fitness franchisee with locations in nine states. The new location will be the first Planet Fitness in McKinney and will join over 2,500 locations worldwide for the fitness brand. The McKinney gym will occupy a space formerly home to a Tuesday Morning store, which closed in mid-2023.
